Fireworks Safety Tips

White Firework

This year is flying by! Can you believe Independence Day is Monday? With the legalization of fireworks in Georgia, we know many of our customers will want to get outdoors and light up the sky this Fourth of July, but here at Terra Bites LLC, we  want to remind you of a few fireworks safety tips to lessen your chances of injuring your property, yourself, or others.

  • Obey all local laws regarding the use of fireworks- you always want to be sure you are following the rules, but still having a great time
  • Know your fireworks; read the cautionary labels and performance descriptions before igniting.
  • An adult should supervise all firework activities, and know what to do in case of emergency.
  • Do not operate fireworks while intoxicated
  • Light one firework at a time and then quickly move away.
  • Use fireworks OUTDOORS in a clear area; away from buildings and vehicles.
  • Never relight a “dud” firework.  Wait 20 minutes and then soak it in a bucket of water.
  • Always have a bucket of water and water hose nearby.
  • Never carry fireworks in your pocket anywhere on your person.
  • Do not experiment with homemade fireworks.
  • Dispose of spent fireworks by wetting them down and place in a metal trash can away from any building or combustible materials until the next day.
  • Report illegal explosives, to your local fire or police department.
